General Manager - Sales Led Growth
Ever since 2014, Morressier has been helping a growing number of scientific and academic societies and publishers harness the power and scalability of the digital world to make scientific research more accessible. We facilitate the connecting of the thinkers and the curious, the inquisitive amongst us, to discover, absorb and collaborate on research. We enable research across our platform from peer review workflows, virtual and hybrid conferencing, research libraries and integrity checks.
As we continue on our growth we are looking for a General Manager who is an exceptional cross functional leader! As our GM for Growth you’ll take full P&L responsibility for managing and growing our most developed client portfolio. Additionally you’ll play a pivotal role in helping us accelerate our footprint with the development of new products & the acquisition of new logos in the same arena or to identify new markets such as scientific institutions or corporates. Internally we call this team, “our sales led growth team.”
We are looking for a senior leader from the scholarly publishing and research sector, who is entrepreneurial in their thinking and has instant credibility in the industry.
Responsibilities:
Lead our largest cross functional team, including enterprise, Mid-Market and SMB across all of our sales led products & services
Ensure the growth team meets it’s revenue contribution in the most operationally effective way possible
Work seamlessly across a truly cross-functional team that includes sales, marketing, product, design, engineering, customer delivery and other key skills
Make commercial decisions balancing profitability with investments into platform development alongside enterprise configuration capabilities
Lead and inspire this global growth team, which is full of highly capable, mission-focused Morressians!
Using your industry network, work closely with the CEO, CGO and wider sales team to develop, convert and close deals
Be comfortable with an ever changing environment, learning through growth hacking, using data and insights to quickly iterate as we grow
Lead the MBR and QBR for the respective growth function ensuring clear visibility of performance vs KPI’s and action plans to maximise opportunities for success
Provide thought leadership on our industry and play an active role as part of the leadership team, to ensure Morressier builds out its competitive advantage

Requirements:
Previous experience as a SVP, GM or Managing Director in a relative business that operates in the scholarly & scientific space
Strong leadership skills - ability to work with both technical and non-technical minds - and influence to a very senior level
Exceptional track record of commercial success of driving growth and profitability
A bias to action and the ability to make things happen in a growth startup
Excellent analytical skills and a love for data-driven decision making
Strong track record of working cross functionally
A deep understanding of the scientific community we serve coupled with an extensive network within the community
