Senior Data Engineer
At Morressier we want to enable all the world’s learners to discover, share and advance new ideas, but to do this, we need to continue building our internal team.
Ever since 2014, Morressier has been helping a growing number of professional and academic societies' to harness the power and scalability of the digital world to make scientific research more accessible. We facilitate the connecting of the thinkers and the curious, the inquisitive amongst us, to discover, absorb and collaborate on research. We enable this not just at conferences, but before and after them too with our suite of tools.
After our successful Series A funding round in 2021, we have grown the team fourfold and we do not plan on stopping. We are looking to add to our diverse team of 28 nationalities spread across six continents with people who are driven by our mission and want to make a positive impact in society. We know that our dreams are big, but no one changed the world thinking small. Your efforts working together with us could facilitate the next big aha! moment in scientific research. Why you may be interested in the role
You enjoy a fast-paced environment, where you are able to push the capabilities forward with Data Warehousing and data ingestions. You enjoy working with larger, varied datasets.
Projects to get involved in include maintaining a scalable data pipeline and providing integrations with large academic societies and publishers. You will work on fault-tolerant and scalable data integrations that we offer to our customers. Additionally, you will push our data warehouse closer to excellence and enhance our reporting capabilities. You will work closely with Engineering to develop reliable systems that are used by some of the biggest academic societies in the world.
In this role, you will learn how to deal with very varied sources of data and conform to our standards, learn how academic societies deal with and see data, and learn how to have an impact on the insights of the work the data team is working on.

What we would like from you
- You're self-driven and a fast learner, eager to deliver great functionality to our users
- Substantial experience in SQL
- Substantial experience with Python
- Experience with data warehousing
- 5+ experience in software engineering
- Executing effective, scalable and maintainable code, paying attention to detail, accuracy and consistency
- Experience working with Apache Airflow or similar data pipeline systems
- Experience with BigQuery and Data Transformation
